Snake Hill is one of the most extensive and complex cave systems in the Lower South East region and recognised as a significant geomorphological feature.

The cave covers an area of approximately 200m x 150m and is filled with numerous passages and openings.

Much of the cave consists of large passages, but also includes many areas which must be crawled through.

The cave system also boasts interesting features such as roof windows and openings abundant with ferns and mosses.

This cave is for the experienced caver only. All explorers must be accompanied by a guide.

Please note: Snake Hill is home to native bat species during winter and as a result, some parts of the cave are unavailable for exploration during this time. Please contact ForestrySA for more information.
